This was well worth your effort for the lovely colours and textures.

Description
I'm better at identifying stars than mushrooms. One can spend an hour or more online looking at photos and descriptions of mushrooms and still not be sure which one you've photographed. Is this the Jack-O-Lantern, the Sheathed Woodtuft, the Velvet Shank? I'm going to go with this latter (Flammulina velutipes), but I wouldn't bet money on it. How backbreaking it is to lie on your neighbours' cold porch stones in late November, freezing your legs and stomach, trying to shoot a mushroom at ground level!
